List of quickest Kia models on sale in the United States.
If you have a need for speed, you have probably wondered what’s the fastest Kia car in the US.
Over the past few years, it was the Kia Stinger sports sedan that held the top spot, which was no real surprise given that it is powered by a twin turbo V6 engine that cranks out 368 horsepower and 376 lb.-ft. of torque.
The Stinger sports sedan goes from 0-60 in a mere 4.7 seconds, showing just how hard those horses work.
However, the Kia Stinger is about to lose the crown as Kia’s fastest car, though, as the upcoming EV6 all-electric crossover goes on sale in USA this year and looks set to topple the king. This is a vehicle that has been generating a lot of buzz lately, and for a good reason.
Kia has delivered some of the details on the new EV6 crossover, and we are suitably impressed. It’s a beautiful looking vehicle, but also one that is going to burn up the road, going from 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds.
Those numbers are reserved for the range-topping Kia EV6 GT trim level, which comes equipped with dual electric motors and 576 horsepower!
Official Kia 0-60 mph standings
We have a handy little table to help you identify the top 5 fastest cars that Kia has to offer in U.S., so let’s also take a closer look at all of them.
#1 Kia EV60 0-60 time: 3,5 seconds
Kia EV6 is the latest arrival to the US-market and it has taken the crown of the fastest Kia model in US from the sporty Stinger sedan.
On its top trim called the GT, the EV6 manages to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in only 3,5 seconds! That’s a huge improvement over the current leader, which was able to achieve the 60 mph in less than 5 seconds.
Sure there are also slower variants of the Kia EV6 available, but we are talking about quickest Kia models here.
#2 Kia Stinger 0-60 time: 4,7 seconds
This will be the first time that Kia have dipped into the sports sedan segment, and it looks as though they are on to a winner. The engine that powers this beauty is a 3.3L V6 twin turbo that delivers 365 horses. It is mated to an 8-speed sport tuned automatic transmission.
#3 Kia K5 0-60: 5,4 seconds
The third fastest Kia on the road in US is the brand-new K5 mid-size sedan. Replacing the well-known Optima 4-door sedan, the K5 has proven to be not only a looker, but also a quick car.
With the brand-new 2,5L turbo-charged 4-cylinder and 290 horsepower, the Kia K5 comes from 0 to 60 mph in 5,4 seconds. That makes it only a fraction of time slower than its larger sibling, the Stinger sports sedan.
#4 Kia Soul turbo 0-60: 6,4 seconds
The Soul may be funky and cute, but it is also surprisingly fast. The new mid-cycle refresh added a 1,6-liter turbo engine and a 7-speed DCT into the mix, cranking out 201 horsepower, allowing the Soul to go from 0-60 in just 6.4 seconds.
#5 Kia Forte5 SX 0-60: 6,7 seconds
The Forte comes available as a 4-door sedan with several different trims, but it is the top of the range Forte GT that is the speedster. Under the hood of the Kia Forte GT is a 201-horsepower 1.6L turbo engine that takes this model from 0-60 in under 7 seconds.
