New Kia Rondo makes its official premiere at the Canadian International Auto Show!

From front to back, the all new 2016 Kia Rondo is a brand new model.

The sleek, sculpted exterior design is a dramatic departure from its previous design.

The dynamic front end slopes smoothly all the way to the back, providing a visual feast for all who see it.

The addition of 18″ machined-finish alloy wheels, high intensity discharge xenon projector headlights, LED daytime running lights and LED light bar technology taillights give the new Kia Rondo a street presence that is difficult to miss or ignore.

The 2016 Rondo MPV has always been synonymous with functionality, adaptability, and versatility, and the new model builds on that by offering five or seven passenger seating.

The elegant front end features a new interpretation of Kia’s signature grille, with the entire vehicle creating a sporty silhouette.

The all new Rondo comes with an impressive amount of cargo space and a luxurious new interior, making it an impressive addition to the segment both inside and out.

Inside look

There is much to catch the eye on the inside, starting with the panoramic sunroof and available high grade leather seating.

The already impressive cargo space can be improved upon thanks to flat folding 2nd and 3rd row seating. The different interior seating configuration possibilities means that there will always be ample space for passengers and their belongings.

The dashboard had been ergonomically designed to make everything easier on the driver.

There are also a number of great comfort and luxury features available that will make for a great ride for everyone inside the vehicle.

The Rondo was designed with the modern family in mind, but driver comfort is also important, which is why you will find tilt-and-telescopic adjustable steering wheel, height adjustable driver’s seat, and an organ style accelerator pedal that is used to match the natural movement of the foot using a control pedal.

There are many great features that come standard in the Rondo MPV, including air conditioning, 2nd row heating and cooling air vents, power windows, heated front seats, a six speaker audio system and keyless entry with power locks.

The interior gets some very nice additional touches with available heated steering wheel, heated front and second row seating, cooled ventilated driver seat, automatic dual-zone climate control and many others.

Black cloth will come standard in the interior, but there is also the option to upgrade to either black or black and beige two-tone leather that is of the highest quality.

Kia Rondo engine specs

Under the hood, the all new Rondo features a 2,0L gasoline direct injection (GDI) four cylinder engine.

The 2,0L “Nu” engine generates 164 horsepower and 156 pound-feet of torque and is coupled 6-speed automatic transmission. The 6-speed manual gearbox is also available!

The 2014 Rondo is sure to be a segment standout thanks to its superior design and European inspired interior styling. It will also display the sort of versatility that Canadians truly admire in the cars they buy.

USA: Kia Motors America has yet to release official information about the US-market Rondo MPV.

I drove this car about a week ago and can honestly say that it drives even nicer than it looks…..and that says a lot. Difference between this and the previous rondo is night and day!

the spec details on the engine, don’t make any sense. This same engine in the Forte puts out 173 hp. The engine in the current Soul that is not GDI puts out the same 164 hp, if you change it to a GDI, isn’t it suppose to give your more hp, otherwise what’s the point, its done it for all the other engines that were changed to GDI. I think this engine info is incorrect.

  6. Greg says:

Torque rating went up from the Soul, didn’t it?

The hp rating was provided by Kia’s official press release…
