New Kia K5 exterior design revealed in official photos.

Kia Motors has today published exterior images of the completely redesigned Kia K5 sedan.

Released in Korean market specification, the latest model offers a fresh and innovative new look for the midsize sedan segment and showcases Kia’s bold new design direction.

The new Kia K5 redesign brings with it a sporty, modern and bold character. The front of the car is characterized by Kia’s imposing new “Tiger Nose Evolution”, a wide, three-dimensional design which integrates the grille and headlamps more organically than previous iterations of the K5.

The texture of the Kia signature grille is modelled on the texture of shark skin which has powerful and sporty image. The grille is made with a matrix of interlocking details to give the K5 a classy and dynamic look.

The K5’s new front headlamps feature a distinctive ‘heartbeat’ daytime running light signature. Above the grille, the deeply-contoured hood and characteristic lower bumper, emphasizing the smooth lines on the front of the car and enhancing the K5’s on-road presence.

The profile of the K5 displays a greater sense of muscularity than its predecessor, with the body narrowing slightly at the midpoint between wheel arches.

A distinctive crease runs the length of the K5’s body, while a dash of chrome above the car’s new frameless windows adds greater drama to its flowing, fastback roofline.

The back of the K5 has a new rear-combination lamp design which provides a sporty silhouette mirrored by the three-dimensional design of the K5’s subtle rear wing.

The unique rear light signature mirrors the slender “heartbeat” motif found at the front of the car, while the flash of chrome from the roofline loops around the base of the rear screen, unifying the side and rear profile.

About 9 or 10 years ago, there was a Kia fan who also showed sketches on Kia-world quite often. He wanted to work for Kia. By the looks of the Kia Futuron, Optima and the one sneak image of the Sorento, it looks like he got in. These appear to be his sketches.

The Optima once again still looks better than its sister model the Sonata.

There was only one generation the Sonata looked better than the Optima and that was the 2006 Sonata and 2006.5 Optima.

If you notice it the Kia Futurton is the redesigned Kia Kue concept. Think about it, in 2007 the Kia Kue was unveiled at the 2007 NAIAS. It was the future face of Kia. Basically it was the greenhouse of the Sportage amd face of the Sorento.

The Futuron is the next step design direction. The Optima and Sorento appear to be repeating their cues from Futuron. Now Ford has a Mustang Mech crossover. What if Kia is thinking of a Stinger Crossover version to compete with Telse and the Mustang Mech CUV?

That would be epic. I hope the Futuron can be a Stinger Mech Tech SUV. I have a gust feeling GM is going to do the same thing with Camero. Kia should definitely look into this.
