Kia Niro crossover vehicle has set the world on fire and has sure shaken up the hybrid car segment!

The vehicle has been first launched to the market roughly a year and a half ago and has already won hearts and minds of many consumers living in the United States, South Korea and Europe.

Built on Kia’s “dedicated hybrid car platform”, the Niro boasts an eye-catching exterior design, quality interior and highly-sophisticated powertrain technology.

It has been on sale in the U.S. since late 2017, which means the Niro remains a fresh product that doesn’t need big changes in order to stay competitive in this fast rising hybrid electric vehicle segment.

While the 2019 Kia Niro US release date has yet to be officially announced, we can already confirm that the upcoming model will not receive any styling tweaks and changes.

There may be, however, some minor trim level enhancements applied. Let’s have a look at what changes and improvements the 2019 Niro may receive for the new model year.

Possible changes of Kia Niro 2019

  • Slightly upgraded trim levels
  • Pricing of Kia Niro may be adjusted
  • The Niro color palette may get some new paint shades
  • Niro PHEV will be launched
  • No tweaks to the engine are expected
  • Competitive mpg figures will remain the same as before

2019 Kia Niro plug-in hybrid

As previously reported, the 2018 Niro plug-in hybrid (PHEV) is already on sale at the local Kia dealers in the US market. However, the official launch date of the 2019 Niro PHEV is not known at this point.

The exact dealership arrival of the 2019 Kia Niro plug-in is rumored ta happen at the beginning of next year.

Niro EV coming soon, AWD rumored

Less likely, though, is the launch of the Kia Niro AWD. Although the vehicle boasts a crossover-like exterior design, its platform hasn’t been developed to support the standard all-wheel-drive system!
