Kia Unveils New Sorento SUV Ahead Of Paris Auto Show Debut

Kia have released the first official photos of the new Sorento, confirming many of the changes that people had been speculating on for a while.

The popular mid-size SUV has a bold new swept back styling that is sure to make the third generation model as successful as those that have gone before.

The all-new Kia Sorento will come with an extended wheelbase, making it longer, lower, and wider.

It has a definite premium look and feel, additional interior space, and a ton of great new features that are sure to excite.

Desing

This is more of an evolution that a total re-design, with some of the new elements pulled from the Kia Cross GT concept that was shown at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show.

The long bonnet and distinctive D-pillars will be carried over from the previous generation.

The styling of the exterior was performed in large part at the Namyang design center in Korea, with a good deal of input from the Frankfurt and California design studios.

The front of the new Sorento will feature a more upright looking tiger nose grille that is larger and has a distinctive 3D diamond pattern on either side of the grille will be swept-back headlights.

A look of real drama is supplied by the lower roofline, higher beltline, and muscular, rounded shoulders.

Dimensions

It’s a look that is sleeker than ever before, and which is enhanced by an additional 95mm in length.

The height has been lowered by 15mm, while the wheelbase in now 80mm longer at a total of 2,780mm, ensuring more passenger space across all three rows.

Soon-Nam Lee, Vice President of Overseas Marketing, Kia Motors Corp., said that the name may be the same, but the new Sorento features a new designs, as well as engineering upgrades and a host of other goodies that will make it better than ever before,

He spoke about the additional space inside, whilst also talking about the ride, handling, and safety technologies that have also been improved.

The all-new Sorento will be unveiled in Korea later this month and will then get shown off in Europe during the 2014 Paris Motor Show in October.

US consumers can expect to see the new 2016 Kia Sorento in showrooms sometime in the spring of 2015.

    Kia should have went with the Cross Gt’s greenhouse. This traditional greenhouse is on like 15 SuVs including the Venza and MDX and RX and new Highlander….boring greenhouse.

    Maybe the interior will make up for this boring exterior. I don’t get it Kia had like 3 SUV concepts to choose from for an all new greenhouse from the Cross GT, Niro and Provo and they choose a boring old outdated used up greenhouse. Kia needs to work on their greenhouses.

    Awful. The 2015 Sorento is so sporty and sleek looking while this turd just looks like a Chevy
