Kia has opened up and decided to release full details about what we can expect from the upgraded 2015 Sportage compact SUV.

The automotive media were the ones given all the details about the upcoming vehicle, including pricing and trim levels.

Kia also revealed new packaging updates and convenience features for the 2015 Sportage.

What’s new on the Kia Sportage 2015?

As is the case with the outgoing model, the 2015 version comes with an impressive lineup of features, is a solid performer, and is beautifully designed.

The 2015 version builds off of the success of the previous model that was twice recognized as the top-ranked small CUV in J.D. Power’s Initial Quality Study (in a tie).

The changes made have all been done to deliver a higher level of comfort and convenience.

There will be three trim levels available on the new Sportage: LX, EX and SX. There will also be two powertrains split between the trims levels: a 2.4L GDI I4 (LX and EX) and a 2.0L Turbo GDI (SX).

The LX trim will come with a host of standard features, starting off with 17-inch alloy wheels that ride on 225/60R17 low-rolling-resistance silica tires.

It will also have keyless entry with folding key, Bluetooth connectivity, privacy glass, solar glass, and a 6-speed Sportmatic automatic transmission.

The EX steps it up a little with 18-inch alloys and 235/55R18 tires, roof rails, high performance dampers, LED turn signals on the exterior mirrors, fog lamps, chrome body trim and door handles, and a rear spoiler.

The top of the range 2015 Sportage SX trim is totally loaded and has the 2.0-liter turbocharged GDI under the hood, kicking out 260 horsepower.

It also comes with 18-inch alloys, sculpted side sill moldings, dual exhaust, LED accent lighting on the headlamps, and a grille unique to the SX. All trim levels come with tilt and telescopic steering for total driver comfort.

The comfort of the passengers is also addressed, as all trim levels come with rear vents and reclining outboard seats. There is an option for front passenger ventilated seats.

Owners of the EX trim will get heated front seats and outside mirrors, as well as Infinity Premium Audio. Add the Premium Package and you also get leather trimmed seats, panoramic sunroof, SiriusXM Traffic, smart key with push-button start, and power folding exterior mirrors.

Technology is also well served, as all trim levels will offer Apple USB connectivity. The UVO eServices system can be found standard on the EX and SW, and as an option on the LX.

The telematics suite is an incredible in-vehicle connectivity system that can also be accessed through a free smartphone app. It comes with a host of convenience and diagnostic features built in.

UVO uses Voice Recognition technology, allowing the driver to perform a number of different functions without ever having to take his hands off the steering wheel. With UVO in place, the 2015 Kia Sportage can then use Rear camera Display and an auto headlamp system.

The stylsih Kia compact SUV is already on sale at your Kia dealership!
