The refreshed Kia Sportage crossover comes available with a pair of different engines. The standard 2.4L, and the range-topping 2.0L GDI turbo four-cylinder engines.

The range-topping 2.0L turbocharged engine is exclusive to the 2022 Sportage SX Turbo trim level, while all other trims, including the LX, S and EX, come available with the base 2.4L four-cylinder engine.

The two available Sportage 4-cylinder engines do not only differ by the displacement, but also by the performance that they deliver.

The base 2.4L four-cylinder engine packs 181 horsepower and 175 lb.-ft. of torque, while the more potent 2,0L turbo unit packs 237 – 240 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque.

In regards to fuel, Kia recommends unleaded gasoline (regular 87 or higher). The size of the Sportage fuel tank is 16.4 gallons, while the engine oil capacity stands at 4.8 liters.
