Kia today announced the release of the 2022 Telluride in US.

The Kia Telluride is big in stature, and it has proven to be a big success for the South Korean automobile brand in terms of sales.

While the SUV is a sure hit for Kia, there are a lot of competitors looking to dethrone it.

With that in mind, Kia has made some changes to the Telluride for the 2022 model year.

2022 Kia Telluride changes – what’s new?

  • New Kia brand logo
  • Slightly redesigned signature grille
  • Larger 10.25-inch navigation display added to the LX and S trims
  • Fully automatic temperature control added to the LX and S trims
  • Navigation based smart cruise control- curve available on all Telluride trims

It is a slightly redesigned signature grille, that comes with the newly updated Kia logo, that is the first change you see.

The Kia logo sits right in the middle of the grille up front, while sitting above the Telluride nameplate on the rear od the vehicle. The new Kia logo can also be found on the steering wheel and the wheel center caps.

Other than the new logo, the only other change found on the exterior is a black finish at the center of the grille.

Things are different on the inside of the 2022 Kia Telluride, especially on the lower trim levels, which will now come with more standard equipment.

The LX and S trim levels sit at the bottom of the range and will now get a 10.25-inch touchscreen, that previously was only available on EX models and higher.

Other standard equipment added to the lower trim levels includes automatic climate control for passengers in front and back, as well as Highway Driving Assist technology. The S model will also now come with a wireless charger.

The entire Kia Telluride 2022 range also now comes equipped with navigation-based Smart Cruise Control-Curve (NSCC-C).

The system is designed to use navigation to recognize things such as curves in the road, speed limits (including temporary), and more so that it can set the speed accordingly.

Kia Telluride 2022 engine specs (no changes)

  • Engine; 3.8L V6 GDI Lambda-II
  • Horsepower rating: 291 hp
  • Torque: 262 lb.-ft. of torque

As far as engines go, there are no changes for the 2022 model year. That means that the 2022 Telluride is still available with the 3.8-liter V6 engine, which generates 291 hp and 262 lb.-ft. of torque.

An 8-speed automatic transmission and FWD complete the setup, although there is also the option for AWD. The all-wheel-drive on the 2022 Telluride costs $2,000.

The 2022 Telluride gas mileage is rated at 20/26/23 mpg city/highway/combined in the FWD setup. With the AWD model, those numbers change to 19/24/21 mpg.

2022 Kia Telluride price

  • LX: $34,015 (plus $2,000 for AWD)
  • S: $36,515 (plus $2,000 for AWD)
  • EX: $39,015 (plus $2,000 for AWD)
  • SX: $43,915 (plus $2,000 for AWD)
  • SX-P: $48,115 (AWD standard)

With the addition of several premium features, you would expect a bit of a price bump. While there is indeed a slight price increase, it’s not one that will hurt your wallet.

The entry-level 2022 Kia Telluride LX model sees a $600 price increase, moving up to a starting price of $34,015, which includes a $1,225 destination fee.

The 2022 Kia Telluride S price increases $700 to $36,515, while the EX and X models go to $39,105 and $43,915, respectively, which is a $200 increase for both.

The 2022 Telluride SX Prestige sits at the top of the range and comes standard with AWD. The starting price for that model is $48,115, which is actually $100 less than the 2021 model.

When does the Telluride 2022 go on sale?

The 2022 Kia Telluride with all the aforementioned changes is now available across the U.S. We are already seeing owners post images of their new ride to social media, and we are sure that there will be more to come.

With more equipment as standard, an update look, and a great starting price for all trim levels, the 2022 Kia 8-seater SUV will almost certainly continue to be one of the most in demand vehicles in what is becoming a highly competitive automotive segment.

The new Logo looks Epic!!! I love it!!!

Who would had known that when the 1994 Kia Sephia came out, 27 years later, people would be buying Kia because they want them now. Who would had known from 1994 Sephia the Stinger and Telluride would come from that and the EV6GT all from the beginning the 1994 Kia Sephia. Who would had known?

It looks good on Telluride. It looks good on all the models I seen so far. I been gone for a while but since then Kia has been doing some incredible things. That Sportage is as aggressive as I ever seen any Kia design yet. I also saw another EMP Kia SUV on spyshots now.
