Telluride is an extremely popular large SUV, so Kia is boosting production to 100.000 units!

Before we get into the Kia Telluride facts and figures, we thought it might be a good idea to tell you why we thought this information was important.

Due to the Telluride receiving amazing reviews and winning the SUV of the Year in the USA, the demand for the three-row SUV has grown dramatically.

In order to meet that demand, Kia has increased production at their US-based plant.

Now, let’s get into more of the details about the Kia Telluride production.

1. Who builds the Telluride?

Kia Motors, the second largest automaker in South Korea and sister to the Hyundai Motor Company, are responsible for the design and production of the Telluride SUV. They have been doing business in the United States since 1992.

2. Where is Kia Telluride manufactured?

  • West Point Georgia, USA

The Telluride is made at Kia’s US manufacturing plant in WestPoint, Georgia, which has been in operation since 2010. The plant cost $1,1 billion to build, and is capable of delivering a lot of vehicles.

All told, the Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia (KMMG) can deliver 360,000 vehicles annually for the US market, as well as other markets around the world.

Besides the Telluride large SUV, the Georgia plant also makes the Sorento midsize SUV and the Optima midsize sedan.

  • Increased to 100,000 units / year

Given the huge customer demand, Kia has had no option but to increase the production levels of the Telluride SUV. The boosted production levels will see 100,00 units made in the US each year.
