Kia launches 2022 Soul in US with some changes aboard. Here’s what’s new.

Kia launches the 2022 Soul in the US-market on the heels of a 20% sales increase this year.

There are some changes being made to the 2022 Kia Soul, so let’s have a quick look at what’s new or improved.

The iconic Soul crossover gains a brand-new Kia logo for the 2022 model year with the new Kia badge being fitted to the hood, liftgate and wheel center caps.

A new logo has also been applied to the steering wheel.

Speaking of interior, there were some changes being made to the trim levels, including the S, X-Line and GT-Line.

These trims now feature a standard 10.25-inch navigation display, dual automatic climate control, push-button start with engine immobilizer, wireless smartphone charger and dual USB chargers.

The 2022 Kia Soul no longer offers 6-speed manual transmission in US.

Perhaps one of the biggest changes to the 2022 Kia Soul is the discontinuation of the 6-speed manual transmission, which was previously available on the Kia Soul LX. It is not available anymore.

Another change is the addition of the new LX Technology Package, which adds 16-inch alloy wheels and bundles several advanced driver-assistance systems, including:

  • Blind Spot Collision Warning
  • Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist
  • Lane Change Assist, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist
  • Lane Keeping Assist and Driver Attention Warning
  • 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels

On top of that, the 2022 Kia Soul LX gains an 8-inch screen on the head unit (up one inch from last year’s model)!

Last but not least, according to Kia USA press release, the Kia Soul Steel Gray color replaces the Sparkling Silver paint shade on the LX, S and EX trim levels.

That new logo fits the Soul very well.

I intended to trade my kia Soul in for a new one since he’s got only 10000 miles on him.
Now I found out there are no more 6-speed manual transmissions available and that’s all I drive!!
    I HATE automatic transmissions!!
Looks like I have to move on to another car company, I’m sad to say!
